Best-selling author and blogger

About

Claire Ridgway is a full-time history researcher, blogger and author who lives somewhere up a mountain in Andalucia, southern Spain.

A vivid dream about witnessing Anne Boleyn’s execution led to her starting The Anne Boleyn Files blog in February 2009. By the summer of that year she had given up freelance writing to focus on history research and writing, her real passion. Annoyed with the wealth of misinformation, myths and downright lies about Anne Boleyn online and in books, Claire made it her mission to get to the truth behind Henry VIII’s second wife and share it with the world. The Anne Boleyn Files is now one of the top Tudor history websites and Claire is well respected in the history community. Claire sees herself as a history detective, using zee leetle grey cells to dig for the truth in the primary sources. She’s like a dog with a bone when it comes to an inaccuracy or misconception and won’t let go until she’s found the truth.

Claire published her first book The Anne Boleyn Collection: The Real Truth About the Tudors in February 2012, selling over 2000 copies in the first 5 weeks. Her second book The Fall of Anne Boleyn: A Countdown was published in April 2012. By August 2012 they had sold over 20,000 copies and Claire was appearing on the Top 100 Indie Authors list.

In July 2012, Claire and her husband Tim joined forces with top indie authors to publish a book on self-publishing and marketing books – Interviews with Indie Authors: Top Tips from Successful Self-Published Authors. Claire enjoys sharing her thoughts on publishing and marketing, with tips and advice, on her blog www.InterviewswithIndieAuthors.com.

Claire loves hearing from readers and other authors so please feel free to email her at claire@theanneboleynfiles.com
